Press Release- UCFD#1 Awarded $21K Grant from Good Shepherd Community Health Foundation For Emergency Medical Equipment

Thanks to a generous $20,667 grant from the Good Shepherd Community Health Foundation, Umatilla County Fire District #1 (UCFD#1) has purchased six advanced video laryngoscopes to enhance patient airway management during emergency medical responses.

These state-of-the-art devices allow paramedics to view a patient’s airway internally through a high-definition camera affixed to the end of an endoscope. This technology provides a clearer and more detailed view of the airway during critical medical emergencies, enabling more accurate assessments and improved patient care.

The addition of these advanced laryngoscopes ensures that UCFD#1 remains equipped with the tools and technology necessary to provide top-quality emergency medical services while keeping pace with ongoing advancements in pre-hospital care. With over 80% of UCFD#1’s calls including emergency medical response, having advanced tools such as these allows the District to practice emergency care at the highest possible level for community members in need.

As a publicly-funded fire district, grants such as these from the Good Shepherd Community Health Foundation allow UCFD#1 to extend its limited budget and continue meeting the community’s growing needs in a fiscally responsible way.

Thank you, Good Shepherd Community Health, for your ongoing support of the District!
